Alfred Sit

I was first introduced to this art in 1995. At that time, I had trained in various martial arts. I trained in karate,

tae kwon do, wing chun kung fu and was unable to stick to those arts for any length of time, training for a few

months here, a few months there. Intuitively, I knew there was something missing in those arts and was thus

not inspired to commit time and effort learning them.

Also, I spent a few years as a soldier in the Canadian Forces and I thought that I was proficient in terms

of fighting, tactics, field craft, and survival but I learned otherwise.

I was a student of Master Law's from 1995 – 1999 and I was amazed and thoroughly impressed by

both the art and the teacher. It was like nothing I had previously experienced as he was the only teacher

I had that taught from real life experience, and he taught at a higher level than other teachers. During my

time as a student, the training took place at Master Law's home, and for most of that period, there was

three, perhaps four, core students, including myself. This meant that we had a lot of individual attention

and as a result, our learning was accelerated.

I quickly became a committed student, ultimately spending four years with Master Law. This art was the

only martial art I had stuck with for more than a few months as it is the only truly effective art that is

practical in real life.

Thankfully, I never had to use the art physically to defend myself, but the confidence that I had acquired

permitted me to talk my way out of a few confrontations. The training can give one a peace of mind and

clarity of thought in situations that would cause panic in others. The most memorable situation was in 2002

when I was approached by eight Jamaicans in an attempted hold-up. I had the peace of mind and clarity of

thought to verbally isolate the gang leader and defuse the situation. If I had panicked and fought them physically,

most likely I would have been killed, as it was highly likely that they were armed either with knives or guns.

Another memorable event was during a training trip to the 1000 acres near Minden . To pass the second

session test required jumping over a staff at eye height (over 5 feet). I was in my mid to late 30's at the time

and I was training with guys that were 18 and 19 years old, and I simply could not envision myself clearing the bar.

With Master Law yelling at my back and the bar in front of me, I knew there was no turning back. I was prepared to

go for the jump, possibly injuring myself rather than turn around and have to face Master Law. To my pleasant

surprise, I cleared the bar rather effortlessly.

These two events illustrate how invaluable this art is. It can literally save your life. Also, most people are completely

unaware that they are capable of much more than they believe possible. It takes an extraordinary teacher and coach

to bring out that potential. Master Law is such a teacher and coach.

In 1999, I went through a traumatic collapse of everything in my life, including losing my houses and all my assets,

ending up in massive legal trouble, ultimately falling into profound depression. At this point, I left the

training in order to put my life back together, pretty much dropping out of the world. Eventually, I pulled myself out

of it and moved on with my life. I believe this art helped me to come out of it as it gave me an inner strength and

coping abilities I didn't know existed. Many people, I believe, would have killed themselves if their lives collapsed

to the same degree.

Since that time, I have grown and matured. I have become much less impulsive, much less selfish, and much more

caring and compassionate. I have discovered my true purpose and that is to oppose oppression and injustice

wherever it exists. I have been given knowledge about the social construction of society, the power structure and

agenda of the ruling class, and what has to be done in order to restore the natural order. Society today is fast becoming

an extreme feudal system, with the rich becoming obscenely richer and more powerful, while the rest of us are being

pauperized and stripped of our rights and freedoms. Some of my friends have said that I was becoming like the

character Neo in the movie The Matrix . Around this time I developed an intense desire to start training again.

I had no idea what had happened to Master Law or where he was.

Doing a Google search for “ninja training” led me to the Ninja Academy website. I sent an email expressing my

interest and eventually Omar, whom I had previously met, responded. At the time, I was lacking funds, but

I kept in touch with Omar. When I found out that the 2006 Summit was taking place in Canada ,

I immediately signed up for it. After the Summit , I made up my mind to get back into the training fully.

I was still lacking funds, but I knew I had to get back into martial arts training, like Neo in The Matrix ,

so I signed up for a free course in shaolin kung fu. I trained for a few months with an instructor that is

good compared to many martial arts teachers out there, but in the back of my mind, I knew that it was

lacking in comparison to this art.

Finally, I was ready to return to this art. May 2, 2007 was my first day back. After an eight year

absence, I felt extremely privileged to be back. I found out how much I had missed it. During my

first era of training, I felt that our group was like a family. We had developed friendships, camaraderie,

and a true brotherhood. And I was honoured to have counted Master Law among my friends.

I hope to re-create that with this new group of students and I hope that I will be accepted as I was with the old group.

In conclusion, I highly recommend this art to anyone. In a world becoming increasingly chaotic

and insane, I consider the Ninja Academy an oasis of calm and sanity, a place that provides what modern society doesn't.

And as the world increasingly deteriorates, it will become extremely important to have the skills to defend yourself and

your family. As I have shown earlier, training in this art can save your life. You will also get to know who you really are,

what your life purpose is, that you are capable of much more than you believe possible. This art isn't simply just another

martial art; it is also a philosophy of life. As someone who has “been around”, I can attest to the fact that Master Law is,

indeed, one of those rare individuals that you don't meet everyday, an individual with a unique ability to impart a very

special knowledge and wisdom. And having that wisdom and knowledge can only enhance your life. It certainly has mine.

Sincerely,

Alfred Sit
